Heavily focusing on color and type for this piece to step away completely from my more traditional use of just grays/pencils in art work. Creating a post card from a video game Metal Gear Solid: the Phantom Pain in thoughts of “What if Big Boss made his very own postcards to be sent back home.
Using a photo taken of myself cosplaying as the main character, it would be perfect to add some touch to both real and fake skin. Trying to find a balance between both game and real life colors to really pull in not only a strong contrast, but an over arching theme. However the biggest challenge that was the top goal was to near perfectly make a smooth transition from real life to video game. Especially in the hair area.
This had always stumped me when attempting to erase too much and often creating flat or extremely standing out eye sores in ridges or awkward bumps. With the use of a tablet I was able to make very fine strokes of the eraser tool. Leaving the majority of the hair not only intact, but without any awkward edges or strong lines
